  • planning a christian st. patricks day party any ideas?

    Feb 22nd

i need some ideas for this like games, things involved with st. patricks day. and things like that. please help. thank you

Since St. Patrick’s Day is a feast day for a Catholic Saint it is innately Christian in nature. If you are trying to avoid the over-consumption of alcohol , as is commonly associated with the holiday in the United States , you could do as the Irish do and ..Go to church !

You could also prepare typical Irish dish like Corned Beef and Cabbage , go to a parade,or see a traditional Irish band in concert.

You didn’t specify the ages of people attending your party so another idea is to "invent" some games related to the holiday or country . For example , Saint Patrick is credited for running all the snakes out of Ireland. You could make up trivia cards about the holiday , including such factoids as this . I remember playing a game called Pot o’ Gold with the Irish nuns where we would be given clues to more clues and eventually find the pot o’ gold ( which was filled with gold foil coins).

Just be creative and make up your own ways to celebrate the holiday.

    1. I’m from Ireland. A traditional St. Patrick’s day party involves drinking early and often, watching a football (or soccer, if you’re a Yank) match in the pub, and singing loudly and badly. If you’re going to cook, DON’T make corned beef and cabbage. I never ate that until I moved to the States.

    4. Chrisitan St. Patrick’s day party…that’s a little redundant. St. Patrick was a Christian saint, therefore St. Patrick’s day is a Christian holiday.
